| Some happy memories of Sax at home with his family. He was an integral part of me, Caroline, Ross and Joy, a loyal friend and partner who would back me up without question in any given situation. He has a unique 'bearing' able to chill out at home yet switch on at work time, he could read me like a book, he knew when i was frightened and was my strength and protector, he knew when i was sad and treated me with compassion placing a paw on my leg or arm, he knew when we as a team had done well by licking me all over the face.To coin a phrase 'he was my rock' Caroline Joy and Ross were all involved with him in one way or another, they all could 'work' him and have done so on many occasions whilst out training. He had no failings whatsoever, it is us as humans that have the failings and much can be learnt from animals such as him. Saxon was a victim of our human perception of right and wrong, rules and regulations. Hindsight is wonderful, if only had i known what lay ahead for him! Saxon is without doubt the ultimate Police Dog and thanks to the SOS group will be remembered in History as the dog who gave the British Police Dogs 'rights' Saxon if you only knew how i feel as i type this, not a day has passed without you in our thoughts we have done our best in this battle to save your life and this has been achieved but what lays ahead for you nobody knows, will we ever meet again? will we hear about you? will we know where you have gone and who you are with? But the most burning question that both you and all of us want answered is WHY ? You are irreplaceable and will forever remain in our hearts. God bless you and look after you Mike Caroline Ross and Joy xxxx |
